9/7/2014 – Ban Gioc Waterfall
Went to Ban Goic waterfall, which borders Vietnam & China. The left set of falls is the Vietnamese one, the right is the Chinese one. This shot shows the right one. They have a marker showing the two countries, followed somebody else up there & got into trouble by mr over the top tour guide. Was a really cool waterfall, if you could shake off mr tg.
Stopped at a little village on the way, took a look at them making knives.
Went to the Nguom Ngao Cave near Ban Gioc waterfall, pretty normal cave really, but walked through the rice fields and village. Was really hot.
Then to Pac Bo Cave, the best thing about this was the stream that ran alongside the edge. The cave was where Ho Chi Minh lived for a while. Good to get away from the cities and see some natural scenery, but a very long day. Driver wants to be rally car driver, I’m sure, he is crazy sometimes. Safe, but… Those in the back are thrown from side to side. Another excellent day. Topped off with pizza from Pizza Chi restaurant again, which conveniently was only a few doors down from our hotel. Had a quick look around Cao Bang at night, would be a good place to spend some time during daylight, the market looks to have some nice food options.
