6/7/2014 – Hanoi to Ha Giang
Got collected for our second leg, heading up to Ha Giang, via some excellent scenery, here is an example. Stayed in a stilted house home stay, it has hot water, power & curtained private rooms. Luxury compared to many other home stays I’ve been in. Went for a walk through the village. Wow. Rice paddies, people working in them, just like the way it was demonstrated earlier in the trip. Took quite a few photos, one of which has since made it to my wall at home. Dad hasn’t yet eaten with chopsticks & he wasn’t going too today either, so he sat there with a bowl & spoon. Took them ages to find a spoon. Not much familiar food, all traditional Vietnamese. Walk through the village was probably one of the highlights so far.
