Here I am, in Vietnam, day 3. Started the day by going to the cu chi tunnels, made famous by the Viet Cong during the Vietnam war. Interesting, and barbaric really, in what they did to the Americans. Numerous traps, such as the door trap, window trap, and others. Very unpleasant. Walked through one tunnel passage, I think that one had been enlarged for westerners to fit through, but was still pretty small. Had to crouch down to get through. Guide wasn’t really that good, too many people in our group, and also didn’t say take your bags off and stuff when going through the tunnel which would have been helpful for some. Didn’t make it through to the end, wasn’t really that exciting, so I gave up.
In the afternoon, we had lunch at the eleven café (very good), then headed to the Bitexco Financial Tower. They have a sky deck 49 floors up, it gives a good view but we were there when it was raining so the view was limited.
