Bugala Island, Kalangala District, Uganda

It’s been a while since I posted anything, let alone photos of Uganda. I’ve been put to shame by my brother who’s living over in Boxmeer Holland for a while and is posting every few days!
Anyway, here we go, some photos on the Bugala Island. The Island was great. So much scenery and bird life and many Uganda people to meet and talk to. We had the privilege of getting a look around one of the local fishing villages there. Our guide said very few muzungus (white man) or tourists come to this village, his home village, and he personally had only brought one or two here before hand. There were a few people who had not seen white skinned people before and one of the kids took one look at us and started screaming and ran away. That was an experience… The village though, gave us a glimpse of how hard life can be over here. The villagers did not have much at all, they lived a very simple life and it was actually rather uncomfortable walking through the village. Despite the fact that we were with one of the locals, I very much felt like an intruder. Consequently I didn’t take many photos at all. Anyway, here’s the pick of my photos from the Island and a couple from the reptile farm back in Entebbe.
