A first

Filed under: Idle Ramblings — pearsey @ 8:13 pm

You heard it first here. I’ve been here nearly four years and in that time I’ve never put up a Christmas tree. But, today, still in November, I put up the Christmas tree. Don’t think I’ve ever put up the Christmas tree that early!

Speaking of being in my house nearly four years. It’s taken me this long to realise that my sink plug doesn’t work properly. I’d noticed when I’d filled the sink up and took the dishes out, there was less water, but I assumed that was because I’d taken the dishes out. But recently I left a couple of things soaking overnight and I came back to an empty sink. First time it happened, I thought I hadn’t put the plug in properly. Second time I was a little more suspicious. Third time – that’s when it clicked!

Day 31 – Obedience

Filed under: Finances — pearsey @ 7:19 pm

Day 31 – Millions do not instantly obey the Holy Spirit without negotiation.

When the Holy Spirit speaks to you, do your best to obey straight away.  Don’t argue with the source of your supply.  Instead, obey Him, take a step of faith and honour the Holy Spirit.  Don’t look for reasons not to do what He just told you to do, don’t try to justify it somehow and don’t negotiate with the Holy Spirit – because you know you’ll end up losing.

When you’re challenged by the Holy Spirit and the feeling is strong and intense and you want to please God with your obedience – don’t step back, because that is when the windows of heaven will be opened toward you.  When the Holy Spirit talks to you about a seed, He has a harvest on His mind.  He knows the future and He is asking you to trust Him.

When we follow God, when we trust Him completely, we will receive a hundred fold return: “28 Then Peter began to say to Him, “See, we have left all and followed You.”
29 So Jesus answered and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife[a] or children or lands, for My sake and the gospel’s, 30 who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time—houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions—and in the age to come, eternal life.”  (Mark 10:28-30)

God has given us instructions for a financial harvest.  He came so that we could have life and life more abundantly.  He doesn’t want us to live in poverty.  Are we going to give our dreams and financial goals to God, talk them over with Him and then let Him guide us as we do?  If you do, God will speak to you.  And when He does, be ready and quick to obey and you will see a mighty harvest.

“An uncommon harvest will always require an uncommon seed” – Mike Murdock

This is a summary, from chapter 31, 31 Reasons people do not receive their financial harvest, written by Mike Murdock.
