Day 18 – The tithe is holy

This is a summary, from chapter 18, 31 Reasons people do not receive their financial harvest, written by Mike Murdock.

Day 18 – Millions steal the tithe, the holy portion God has reserved for Himself

Tithing, which means a tenth, was established in the Old Testament by Abraham, long before the introduction of the Law.

The tithe was Abraham’s way of giving back to God, proof that God was His provider and had blessed him incredibly.

  • Your tithe is the key to financial supply (Mal 3:10)
  • The arrogant (or ignorant) don’t tithe – they rely on themselves to provide and ignore God’s word
  • Honour the tithe for it is holy to God (Lev 27:32)
  • Tithe consistently on what you earn
  • Tithing is giving, proving that God does indeed live in you – Giving is the only proof of love – no matter what you are giving.  God gave Jesus to us (John 3:16)
  • Don’t be afraid – don’t let fear of not having enough stop you from returning to God what is really His.  Show confidence in God’s word by being obedient and tithing  (Num 23:19)
  • Tithing shows you believe the word of God (Prov 3:9-10) and documents your faith
  • Tithing destroys greed – God is not poor, He owns everything, He doesn’t need our money
  • Not tithing brings a curse (Mal 3:9-11)

A single corn kernel can produce at least 2800 kernels of corn.  As we sow our money, the laws of nature prove that our seeds can multiply.  God can multiply your tithe 100 fold (Mark 10:30)

God’s tithe is holy.  It belongs to Him.  Don’t steal the tithe from God.
