Day 19 – Many refuse to sow during times of crisis

“Crisis creates fear.”

When you are faced with mounting debt problems, or mounting problems in general, or even if you just THINK you’re faced with problems, it can become easy to be frozen with fear.  Instead of fighting the enemy and running to God, we allow ourselves to lose heart, to be bullied by the enemy and those fears are magnified – leading us to believe that we’re worse off than we really are.  James 4:7b says “Resist the devil and he will flee”.   We need to be active in our resisting.  Active in our prayer, active with the word of God and active in our giving.

“Crisis is the place of miracles”.  Sow seeds in the time of crisis to build expectation and hope.  “Without faith it is impossible to please God” – Heb 11:6.  When you sow these seeds, sow with expectation and expect a miracle.  When you sow in times when you have nothing, God sees that and that seed will carry more weight.  The widow who gave everything she had in Mark 12:41-44 is an example of that and she was noticed and blessed by God.

Sow in times of crisis – whatever the crisis, and allow God to give you renewed hope through those seeds.

This is a summary, from chapter 19, 31 Reasons people do not receive their financial harvest, written by Mike Murdock.
