Day 15 – Learn from a financial mentor

Filed under: Finances — pearsey @ 12:04 pm

Day 15 – Many are unwilling to patiently sit at the feet of a financial mentor.

“What you keep hearing you eventually believe”.  Learn from a financial mentor.  Listen to teaching, read the books and read the Word of God in the areas of financial mentoring.  Discern the Financial mentors that God has placed in your life.  Reach out for financial wisdom, be thankful for what God has done so far in your life and then learn to pursue God and worthy and proven counsel.  Respect and celebrate the financial mantel of those who God sends to your life.  Don’t ignore them.  “He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward. And he who receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward.” Mat 10:41.

If you are somebody who has a gifting for teaching finances, or whether God has called you for something specific, do not get intimidated by the poverty that people find themselves in.  Do not shy away from preaching the message that you have been called to preach.  When Elijah was taken to the starving widow, he did not let her poverty intimidate her, but preached the message he was called to.

When you pursue God, do it not just with prayer, but by reading the scriptures, studying financial (or whatever area you are pursuing) books, listening to sermons on that topic – whatever you can get your hands on in that area is all part of pursuing God.

“Where there is no counsel, the people fall; But in the multitude of counselors there is safety.” (Prov 11:14)

  • Somebody gave you instructions that created your present circumstances
  • Somebody must give you different instructions to create the circumstances that you desire.

“You will never possess what you are unwilling to pursue.”

“Some are thinking about the limitations of their salary instead of hearing about the potential of their faith.”

Pursue God and what He has to say about that area.  Then let faith stir and rise inside of you and watch what happens!

This is a summary, from chapter 15, 31 Reasons people do not receive their financial harvest, written by Mike Murdock.
