Day 10 Recognise your harvest

Filed under: Finances — pearsey @ 3:01 pm

Day 10 – Many people do not recognise a harvest when it does arrive.

We serve an amazing God.  He has blessed us with every spiritual blessing (Eph 1:3).   Most of us, especially those who are reading this, have far more blessings than we realise.  We have a roof over our head, we probably have running water, power, sewerage and gas.  We have an abundance of food to put on the table and plenty more where that came from.  We can go outside and see the sun shining and feel its warmth.  We can hear the birds sing, listen to music on our iPods and hear other people talking to us.  We can listen to the rain on the roof while we stay warm and dry in our houses.  We have our health – and if we do get sick, we can easily ring an ambulance or go to the hospital.  Our parents, our children, our families are also a harvest.  We already have so many blessings – and this our harvest.  Many people around the world have none, or only some, of the things listed above.  Do we recognise this as our harvest though?

Do you recognise that when you sows seeds into other ministries – prayer, finances, time, giving goods etc – that their harvest is also your harvest?  Do you recognise that when you have thoughts or ideas that can improve you or unlock something in your life, that they are part of your harvest?

When Jesus came to this world, He was a harvest.  But that harvest was missed.  “He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. 11 He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him.” John 1:10-11.

We have an incredible harvest, but do we recognise it?  Everything we have comes from God.  Everything we will ever own comes from God.  When we sow seeds, let’s celebrate, knowing that we have and will continue to receive a harvest.  If somebody comes and talks about money in church, don’t get upset.  An offering is an open door for the seasons in your life to change.

I am so blessed.  God has given me so much.  Make sure you stop long enough to look around and see your harvest too.

This is a summary, from chapter 10, 31 Reasons people do not receive their financial harvest, written by Mike Murdock
