Day 6 – Deserving

Filed under: Finances — pearsey @ 5:26 am

This is a summary, from chapter 6, 31 Reasons people do not receive their financial harvest, written by Mike Murdock.

Day 6 – Some do not really believe that they deserve a financial harvest

Poverty and a lack of a financial harvest can become so much part of your lifestyle that you adapt to having a lack.  But this kind of mindset can be devastating.  Yes, God has already blessed us beyond what we deserve.  But if you continue believing that you are inferior and lose confidence in God and His promises, it means that instead of approaching God boldly, you crawl away and don’t come to Him.    Consider though, that there is also a responsibility upon us in order that we qualify for God’s blessings.

If we have not been doing what the bible says, then another reason we don’t see the blessings of God is because we have not fulfilled the requirements.  Is 1:19-20 “If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the best from the land; but if you resist and rebel, you will be devoured by the word.  For the mouth of the LORD has spoken.”  We also need to be willing to seek out instruction (Prov 13:18) and be willing to work (2 Thes 3:14).  Are we doing that?  If not, then perhaps that is also why we feel unworthy and not willing to approach God boldly.  That can apply to other areas of your life too – not just financial.

Instead, allow what God thinks of you to be what you speak out and think on.  Don’t focus on how unworthy you think you are, or the negative things that have happened in the past.  Don’t fall into the trap of having a victim mentality.

I like the way Mike Murdock puts it: “They (the Israelites) forfeited the promised land of Canaan because of a sense of inability, limitation and worthiness.  Giants never defeated the Israelites.  Fear within them conquered them.”

“Rise up.  You can walk away from Egypt.  You can shake off the chains of fear.  You don’t have to stay where you are.  Something bigger is rising up within you today.  Something bigger than you’ve ever known in your whole lifetime.”

Get a hold of what God thinks of you.  Analyse who you are in God, rather than who you are not.  Allow yourself to come boldly to His throne, believing that you are worthy and deserving of good things.
