Day 5 – Ask

Filed under: Finances — pearsey @ 6:12 am

This is a summary, from chapter 5, 31 Reasons people do not receive their financial harvest, written by Mike Murdock.

Day 5 Some people never even ask for a specific and significant financial harvest.

Mat 7:7-8 – “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.”

You may wish for more money, dream for more money, hope and desire more money, but do you actually ask. (This works for anything – you may wish, dream, hope and desire other things too, but do you actually ASK God for them?)
Are you specific when you ask? If you ask for “more money” and you get another dollar, your prayer has been answered!
Asking brings about a humility and a reliance upon God. When you ask, do it with faith and expectation. Heb 11:6 – “Without faith it is impossible to please God…” “Tears alone do not move God, Desperation does not intimidate God, Manipulation does not control God, Education does not influence God. Faith is the only voice God respects, Faith is the only method that impresses God to activate miracles.” That’s a good reminder – not just for financial miracles, but also healings and any other miracles you require.
Sometimes we don’t ask because we believe that the provision of God is sovereign. It is, but we still need to ask. God wants everyone to be saved, but we still have to ask – it involves our will and free choice.
Sometimes we don’t ask because we believe that money is a trap from the enemy. Mike makes the point that if that was the case, satan would be unloading truck loads of money outside our house!
Ask God for financial wisdom. Let the voice of the Holy Spirit guide you. Know what you want out of life – ask specifically, persistently, expectantly, largely and honestly.
Asking is an acknowledgment of His wisdom and your humility. Whatever it is, don’t be afraid to ask with persistence and faith!
