Day 1 – God wants to prosper us financially

Filed under: Finances — pearsey @ 9:30 pm

I have a book here, 31 Reasons people do not receive their financial harvest, written by Mike Murdock. I’m going to try and read a chapter a day – or a reason a day, and post an update here.
Here’s day 1.
God wants to prosper us financially
Heb 4:16 – God wants us to come to Him with all our needs. When we have a need, we come boldly to ask him.
Why do we need finances?
1. 1 Tim 5:8 – God says that we are to provide for our own households.
2. 1 Tim 5:17-18 – We’re to give to our spiritual leaders/pastors
3. Rom 10:15 – We are to help send ministers throughout the world preaching the gospel
4. Matt 22:21 – We’re to pay all of our taxes and obligations
5. Matt 7:11 – We’re to give good gifts to our children and those you love
6. Prov 19:17 – God wants you to give to the poor
7. Ecc 10:19 – We also should have enough money to solve any emergency problems that arise
God wants us to have a prosperous journey through life. He wants us to have life and life more abundantly (John 10:10). He wants everything to multiply and become more (Gen 1:11, 20, 22). In the parable of the talents, we know that if God gives us a measure of something, He wants us to do something with it. God promises to bless us financially if we are obedient to His instructions (Deut 28:1-12). Abraham, Joseph and Moses are a few examples of this.
So God cares about us. He wants to meet every need we have – and has promised that He will. He places desires and dreams in us, most of which can’t be achieved without some kind of Godly provision. Prosperity is having enough of Divine Provision to complete a Divine Assignment”.
It is far more than us living a nice comfortable life. It is us having the means to be able to extend the Kingdom of God, to help provide resources for the Kingdom of God.
What is my view of God? Do I really believe that God cares about my finances and wants to provide for me financially? Do I see Him as a God who owns everything and who is more than able to meet my needs and then to provide me with the finances needed to do what He has called me to do?
I/You will begin to prosper when we start believing that it is the desire and will of God for us.
